Indie: an independently owned business, venture, thought or opinion beyond commercial influence.
Pedant: a petty, petty man, or woman, who seeks to display their learning to win a minor/trivial and often irrelevant concern.
The Indie Pedant brings together these two features in an online magazine type arrangement, which bums on Bukowski, knocks back Kubrick and kicks copies of celebrity magazines in your face!
NB: This magazine isn’t altogether pedantic in the sense you may first think and in some respects it’s a bit of a two fingered salute at this idea of pedanticism, an obvious pun on another, perhaps, more pedantic publication. In fact, it’s a sly nod to the idea that essentially what all blogs, magazines or newspapers tend to do is show off their erudition, making points that could be deemed ultimately inconsequential. If you’re a pedant in the comma and full stop sense of the word, well, click here IP challenge! and get your stickler freak on!
